There are many public defibrillators around County Leitrim but no-one, including the National Ambulance Service (NAS), had a list of them all for use.
The need for a database of all defibrillators in the county was identified following consultation and discussion with community groups in Leitrim.
Leitrim Volunteering Information Service, Leitrim PPN and Leitrim Development Company collaborated to compile a map and database of the locations of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in the county. We have worked with the National Ambulance Service throughout this process, keeping them updated of the locations so they are registered on their system also.
None of this is possible without the support of the communities and volunteers who have raised funds and worked to purchase, erect and maintain their local defibrillators.
Thank You
